Today’s photo of the day is by artist Varosh Santanamiguel. Our story now begins again as you open up your book of enchanted fairy tales. The story of This round is The Phantom of the Opera. This is a classic story about a brooding Phantom who schemes to get closer to vocalist Christine Daae. The Phantom, wearing a mask to hide a congenital disfigurement, strong-arms management into giving the budding starlet key roles, but Christine instead falls for arts benefactor Raoul. Terrified at the notion of her absence, the Phantom enacts a plan to keep Christine by his side, while Raoul tries to foil the scheme.
In this image we see the Phantom in his catacombs waiting for the time to come for him to reveal himself to Christine who only knows him as the voice of an angel. The colors in this image make us feel the depth of despair of the Phantom. Everything about this image feels magical and moody. Do we dare travel with him down the path into his domain below?
