Enchantment Photo of The Day

Two or three hundred years ago, when people were far from being so crafty and cunning as they are now-a-day, an extraordinary event took place. By some mischance one of the great owls, called horned owls, had come from the neighboring woods into the barn of one of the townsfolk in the night-time, and when day broke did not dare to venture forth again from her retreat, for fear of the other birds. Today’s Image of the Day is by artist Alexandra Nevermind depicting a character from the Grimm story “The Owl”.  The cool colors and star like glitter give the image an eerie, yet magical feel.  The Owl looks sadly at us as the figure next to it runs away in fear.  It feels so surreal.  Creative and beautiful work Alexandra! “But Grandmother!  What big eyes you have,” said Little Red Riding Hood. “The better to see you with, my dear,” replied the wolf. Today’s Image of the Day is by artist LiZu Melody depicting a darker version of Little Red Riding Hood.  We love the icy, cold feel from the setting and the red color of the dress really stands out drawing our eye to the main heroine.  It seems as if Little Red is blind to the truth of where her grandmother really is!  Gorgeous image LiZu! “There is a legend that, once upon a time, a beautiful fairy, the Snow Queen, lived on the highest, most solitary peaks of the Alps. The mountain folk and shepherds climbed to the summits to admire her, and everyone fell head over heels in love with her.”  Today’s Image of the Day is by artist Kynne Llewellyn depicting The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Anderson.  This is such a welcomed image to bring in winter!  Kynne is dressed so elegantly and the scene feels like it truly is out of a storybook!  Stunning image Kynne! Once upon a time there were two children named Hansel and Gretel who lived in the forest with their father and mean step mother.  The step mother hated them and had them abandoned in the woods. Their bread trail, eaten by the hungry forest crows, was no were in sight but up ahead in the path they see a wondrous sight.  A house made of chocolate, icing and candy!  Little did they know they had stepped into the trap of the evil forest witch.  Today’s Image of the Day is by artist clau.dagger depicting a Christmas version of Hansel & Gretel.  We love the cold and yet holiday feel of this image.  The cool colors of the background contrast with the warm holiday cheer of the witch.  It makes you wonder if she is friend or foe?  Lovely work Clau! “I used to be Snow White, but I drifted.” ― Mae West Today’s Image of the Day is by artist Emico Tediore depicting a modern version of Snow White by the Brothers Grimm.  If you are a fan of modern depictions of fairy tales like the Grimm Fairy Tale comic book series then this image is just so perfect!  We love the modern and almost vintage style of this look and the addition of the wolf and the wishing well signals that maybe Snow White is a part of a much bigger universe. This is one of my favorite Enchantment photos to date!  It is so unique and beautiful.  You rocked this one Emico! Once upon a time there was an old goat. She had seven little kids, and loved them all, just as a mother loves her children. One day she wanted to go into the woods to get some food. So she called all seven to her and said, “Children dear, I am going into the woods. Be on your guard for the wolf. If he gets in, he will eat up all of you all, even your skin and hair. The villain often disguises himself, but you will recognize him at once by his rough voice and his black feet.”  Today’s Image of the Day is by artist Pickle depicting the story of The Wolf & The Seven Young Goats by the Brothers Grimm.  This photo is just so darn adorable!  The colors are a mix of warm and cold and the pose used brings an animated feel to this.  Great attention to detail Pickle!
