Today’s Image of the Day is by artist clau.dagger depicting Sela from the Grimm Fairy Tales comic series.  Dr. Sela Mathers is a Professor of Literature who has been given the ability to help people by showing them fairy tales with a lesson about their life.  Each comic had the frame story featuring Sela and then a modern and twisted version of a Grimm fairy tale after.  This image is so fun and colorful!  The fantasy trinkets and elements around Sela add to the mystery of her work.   A poor widow once lived in a little cottage. In front of the cottage was a garden, in which were growing two rose trees; one of these bore white roses, and the other red.  She had two children, who resembled the rose trees. One was called Snow-White, and the other Rose-Red; and they were as religious and loving, busy and untiring, as any two children ever were. Today’s Image of the Day is by artist Susanne Drechsler depicting Snow White from the story “Snow White & Rose Red”.  There are no words to describe how amazing and beautiful this portrait is.  It has a sweet and classic feel.  It is almost like a painting.  The soft tones really draw you in to the gentle nature of our character.  Wonderful work Susanne! Rapunzel, Rapunzel, Let down your hair to me. Today’s Image of the Day is by artist Blu Moonwall depicting a modern version of Rapunzel.  Thelighting in this image is simply stunning and we love the touch of “tangled” thrown in with the lanterns.  It is a great mix of the different versions of the classic Grimm fairy tale!  Beautiful work Blu!  Visit us at Enchantment for some amazing shopping and beautiful scenery!  And don’t forget to enter the Lost Unicorn Gallery Photo Contest.  Rules are HERE.  Contest ends December...

Two or three hundred years ago, when people were far from being so crafty and cunning as they are now-a-day, an extraordinary event took place. By some mischance one of the great owls, called horned owls, had come from the neighboring woods into the barn of one of the townsfolk in the night-time, and when day broke did not dare to venture forth again from her retreat, for fear of the other birds. Today’s Image of the Day is by artist Alexandra Nevermind depicting a character from the Grimm story “The Owl”.  The cool colors and star like glitter give the image an eerie, yet magical feel.  The Owl looks sadly at us as the figure next to it runs away in fear.  It feels so surreal.  Creative and beautiful work Alexandra! “But Grandmother!  What big eyes you have,” said Little Red Riding Hood. “The better to see you with, my dear,” replied the wolf. Today’s Image of the Day is by artist LiZu Melody depicting a darker version of Little Red Riding Hood.  We love the icy, cold feel from the setting and the red color of the dress really stands out drawing our eye to the main heroine.  It seems as if Little Red is blind to the truth of where her grandmother really is!  Gorgeous image LiZu!
